Mark Bentley MSc BA (Hons) FCMI FCILT FRSA

Senior Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge
A progressive educationalist, Mark commenced his career in teaching and learning in Further Education as Director of Supply Chain, writing supply chain and logistics qualifications with extensive experience of work-based learning and in particular, apprenticeships. This came having had 30 years’ experience as a Supply Chain Practitioner with a number of blue-chip organisations, having successfully held a range of operational leadership roles.
Throughout his time in Further Education, Mark was instrumental in building strategic partnerships between industry and education, representing both these sectors, in skill development initiatives, at national, regional and local level, being instrumental in the development of apprenticeship standards, employability, and lifelong learning programs.
Mark is currently Senior Lecturer specialising in Supply Chain and Operational Management at Anglia Ruskin University teaching at Cambridge and Chelmsford campus locations, teaching master’s level education and recently ,creating an undergraduate program in Supply Chain Management which looks to welcome the first students onto the program in September this year.

His research philosophy is underpinned by his belief that, “instead of teaching students what to think, we should be teaching them how to think”. In the burgeoning age of Artificial Intelligence he feels this has never been more appropriate in the history of human thought.
