Dr. Maina Gĩokõ is the esteemed Director of the Center for Education, Research, Teaching, and Innovation (CERTI) at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa. He also holds a position as an adjunct Assistant Professor at the Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development, East Africa. An accomplished author and researcher, Dr. Maina specialises in innovative educational practices aimed at sustainable development. Dr. Maina spearheads several grant-funded initiatives, utilising them as platforms for learning to inform evidence-based practices and influence educational policy and future directions. His commitment to enhancing learning experiences and responsiveness is evident in his work and research. Throughout his career, Dr. Maina has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards. These include being named among the Top 50 Teachers in the Varkey Global Teacher Prize, listed as a Top 100 Influencer in Technology in Africa, and receiving the Baldev Prize for Transformation and the Presidential Education Leadership Award.
