Programme Requirements
- Completion of a minimum of 5840 hours of volunteer community service or more.
- Submission of a comprehensive professional biography detailing accomplishments and experiences in the field of humanitarianism.
- Provision of a professional headshot suitable for official use.
- Furnishing four personal references attesting to involvement in community outreach, non-profit sector work, church outreach, or military service.
- Demonstrating a proven track record of contributions as a humanitarian, including significant projects and initiatives.
- Successful completion of an interview process with a minimum of two members of the GIA Board of Directors.
Evaluation
Candidates will undergo evaluation based on their fulfilment of minimum requirements and demonstrated commitment to humanitarianism, alongside their engagement with course materials. The evaluation process considers essays, volunteer/partnership experiences, and personal references.
Award
Upon meeting the course requirements and successfully completing the evaluation process, candidates will be conferred with the Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarianism. This prestigious recognition signifies their exceptional commitment to improving lives, promoting social justice, and fostering positive change on a global scale. Recipients of this honour are entitled to use the title of Dr. in their name, marking their distinguished contribution to the field of humanitarian work.
